ICT & Business Improvement

Applying ICT to secure sustainable efficiencies and an effective data driven approach to decision making is critical in today’s competitive business climate.

Through a range of successful commercial assignments involving, information architecture and management, business improvement, and service management, DMV and its consultants have developed a vast library of intellectual property to facilitate significant improvement at both the strategic and operational levels within any firm, government department or agency.

DMV typically uses a derivative of the SEI’s IDEAL model as the basis for any ICT or Business Improvement assignment. This enables a logical, flexible and easily understood repeatable set of processes that encourage the inculcation of value adding thinking to be applied.

Our Approach

Initiate:

DMV consultants are equipped with the requisite facilitation and soft skills to engage clients within the relevant business context to determine the appropriate buy-in, sponsorship and charter for a particular assignment.

Diagnose:

Using A3 thinking for concise problem definition and core Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles, patterns and processes our team will quickly define and characterize the clients current and desired state.
Recommendations to achieve the desired state or the required solution are usually supported with specific benefits modelled using Benefits Dependency Networks.

Establish:

The scope of the desired state or solution is then analysed and broken down using the Prince2 Product Breakdown Structure process. This is then distilled as a prioritised set of Milestone deliverables which form the basis for the delivery of the required outcomes.
Management of the delivery where appropriate is usually a combination of SCRUM and PRINCE2 (within an ITIL V3 context if so required).

Act:

An iterative approach within a suitable Engineering or Improvement Life-cycle is then applied to implement the desired state or solution.

Learn:

Routine Retrospectives and After Action Reviews (AAR) form the basis of the DMV approach to capturing and communicating lessons learned.
DMV has developed (and maintains) a broad knowledge base of standards, policies, guidelines and procedures to support its engagements. Our consultants are trained in a range of modern methods and frameworks such as:
• ICT Audit, Governance and oversight
